Kalahari Desert
We journey into the vast Kalahari Desert, part of an immense sand basin stretching from the Orange River to Angola, and across Namibia into Zimbabwe. Characterised by deep red dunes, endless grass plains, and scattered acacia trees, this unique ecosystem supports a surprising variety of specially adapted wildlife.
The peaceful, open landscapes offer a true sense of Africa’s untouched beauty, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.
Fish River Canyon
Today we travel further south to the awe-inspiring Fish River Canyon, the second-largest canyon in the world and the largest in Africa. The dramatic cliffs and vast scale create one of Namibia’s most iconic natural landmarks.
We also visit the fascinating Quiver Tree Forest, where ancient trees stand among massive dolerite boulders, creating a surreal landscape that feels almost otherworldly.
We then continue to our lodge, located close to the canyon, where you can relax and take in the surrounding scenery.
Lüderitz
After an early excursion to the canyon, we head west toward the coastal town of Lüderitz, travelling via Aus. Along the way, we descend the dramatic Great Escarpment into the vast plains of the Namib Desert.
We stop at the historic Diaz Cross, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, before continuing to Lüderitz for a guided tour of this unique coastal town, known for its German colonial charm and rugged seaside setting.
Luderitz
We begin the day with a visit to the ghost town of Kolmanskop, a haunting reminder of Namibia’s diamond rush era of the early 1900s. Once a thriving settlement, it now stands abandoned, slowly being reclaimed by the desert sands.
From here, we travel north toward Sossusvlei, home to some of the highest sand dunes in the world. The changing landscapes along the way offer a striking contrast between history and natural beauty.
Sossusvlei
At sunrise, the towering dunes of Sossusvlei come alive in shades of apricot, red, and orange, set against a crisp blue sky—an unforgettable visual experience and a photographer’s dream.
After taking in this spectacular scenery, we enjoy lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, we explore Sesriem Canyon on a nature drive, followed by a relaxing sundowner before returning to the lodge for dinner.
Swakopmund
Today we travel through the scenic Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons en route to the coastal town of Swakopmund. We stop in Walvis Bay for lunch before continuing our journey.
In the afternoon, we visit the fascinating Moon Landscape, where we enjoy a scenic sundowner drive. We then return to Swakopmund, where you will have time to freshen up before dinner.
Windhoek
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Swakopmund before we begin our journey back to Windhoek. Along the way, we stop at Okahandja, known for its traditional craft markets—perfect for picking up authentic Namibian souvenirs.
You will then be transferred to your accommodation or to Hosea Kutako International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable Namibian journey.
